Every year, race fans who travel I-95 wait anxiously for the parade of haulers to make their way down the famed route to Daytona International Speedway - which is the first sign that the beginning of a new race season is upon us.

This year, just like the previous three years that we've put these lists together, we're struck with how closely die-cast sales mimic the big stories in the sport.

Yesterday at the Myers Brothers luncheon in Las Vegas, Kyle Larson received the Sunoco Rookie of the Year Award for his outstanding performance in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series.
